Have played for a while already, hope you like some feedback and suggestions :P
* So far all defeat sex scenes (that have one) have been great!, besides the flesh monsters that have yet to receive one, I think the small slimes should also have their own unique sex scene, maybe one that changes depending of the amount that defeated you.
* The flesh zone is quite big, very big compared to the slime zone, I think some kind of checkpoint will be needed.
* I still don't understand how the crafting station works, maybe a list of ingredients could be displayed for what you wanna build, that would help to know what to look for.
* The flesh fights are very difficult if not outright impossible without access to an AoE skill, Diamond Storm is a must if one wants to go trough that area.
* Maybe give the player a tell that the blue pools of water damage you if you go trough them, and that the pink ones raise your lust if you interact with them, a small QoL that wouldn't be bad.
* Maybe implement a special corrupt skill if Renamon is completely controlled by one specific kind of flesh parasite, think that would be interesting.
Regardless, I love your game so far, hope to see more of it. :D
thx, yeah the small slimes are just there to help out the bigger mobs with their status, as well as the game isnt going to be all about game overs so they wont be getting a scene.
the flesh zone map isnt done yet, some direction will be needed but its meant to not have a checkpoint. you have to manage the lust as best you can while finding your way through or head back for a breather if needed.
the crafting does tell you what it needs, at the start of the interaction with the crafting it tells you you need 10 of a material and an item to augment. EX: Slime scarf takes a scarf and 10 slime. in the case of non-equipment the materials required are in the name of the item youre making.
if you mean the purple pools in the flesh zone those do give off a red flash when you step on them. and the pink raises the bar

This is an excellent concept for the first Renamon RPG out there, but I really hope the FUTA aspect isn't going to be final. Renamon with a pussy in a world full of nasty creatures wanting to breed would be the best thing. Without a pussy, It's just not Renamon.
Renamon doesnt have to be a girl and theres more than just one. I like dick, the dick is integral to most of the scenes, the dick stays. at least most of the time.
personal preference mostly. i like dick more than vagoo. i think its weird to look at and annoying to draw someone getting fucked in the vagoo with a cock and balls in the way, some of the best parts of the vagoo is how it puffs and squishes but the extra bits cover it entirely. it just looks better to have one or the other. the taint is just a neat spot to me.
always need more games with bois in em, everything is all about the girls and the futas, i want more cute dudes! thats partially why the rena barely has any tit
Definitely digging this overall. Though leveling up feels worthless and the grind for materials and gold is a bit steep (considering your only source of stat-ups is equipment), the art in here and how is used for gameplay is awesome. Really liking the whole Grove style, and it shows with the slimes and the bad endings. The actual battles, though, feel leveled against your favor. The first area turns more into a chore considering how many turns it takes to kill a single enemy, let alone the parasite thingies in the second area. If one was bad enough, how about more than 3 at once? Like I said before, leveling up feels worthless, so you'll need to rely on equipable items all the time.
Still, for being someone's first attempt at an RPG Maker game, I've seen far worse projects from long more experienced people.

yeah levels arrent supposed to do much, mobs wont get really strong, its supposed to be a kind of rock paper scissors type deal with mechanics; slimes are tanky but dont hit hard, their equips make you tanky, parasites are fast but go down in one or two hits, they make you fast, etc etc. its real hard trying to make the game difficult but not overwhelming while changing almost nothing beyond the augments for equips. My playstyle preference is a grinder, as much as id like making the game an uberhard grindfest, thats really not something most people like. mobs are getting slight nerfs and gold drops are getting slight buffs. also you can take slime balls from the ice looking pillars in the slime area, an explanation of that is also in the next update. i have no idea what you mean by textbox breaks, the pacing i have?
Ohhh, that makes more sense. Plus, a rock-paper-scissors style of game can bring in some strats too. I'd imagine that the option to keep said status afflictions from enemies would come in later since I can't either keep the slime or the parasite afflictions when entering another area. The game just forces them off, so I suppose its intentional.
(On a side note, I think the option to "struggle [body part]" is still kept in the resistance tab when fighting outside of the fleshy area when you have a parasite attached, even though the game forces them off you anyways, and the model also reflects that. I'd imagine that's not intentional).
As for the grindier style of the RPG, I'd say that's fine. Not really fond of grind in RPG, but it is a staple in said category, so it's more of a me thing. Again, a me type of problem, but that also affects the...status effect? Move? That the fleshy starfish has when it attaches to your head and puts you to sleep (I think), it cuts off there too. You can tell what it is, but there's too much text for the whole message to display. In short, you could say it is the pacing, but I'm not the type of guy to read descriptive text or read visual novels and the like, so I mostly gloss over them. It's just nit-picking.
As you could probably tell, I'm pretty picky about things, but again, all in the name of positive criticism :)
So, to clarify, those text box breaks I mean as in having leftover space during a scene for it to only use the remaining 2 sentences or so, leaving the rest of the textbox empty. It doesn't break the game or softlock me or anything, just nitpicking.
...On a side note, however, I did some digging on my own to actually find some glitches. I'll list them by order of appearance and the who, what, and when.

Text cut off
Happened when fighting the fleshy starfishes to try out their attach moves and see how they looked. Once I waited in my turns, all of them did their thing. After that, one of them inflicted the status effect, but briefly before that, it displayed the message on the top:
I knew what it was trying to say, but it is still noticeable nonetheless. One suggestion for this was for the game to detect if you have the starfish attached/"equipped" like the game forces you to, then see that if you do, roll a percentage to make it hypnotize you, then put you to sleep. The reason I mention this is that the starfish doing said move isn't the one that is attached as one would think, but rather the remaining one still fighting. If the intended method is just that, however, then it could be useful for the text to reflect that.

Skill leftovers and incorrect layers superimposed
After leaving the fleshy area, I managed for all parasites possible to attach to Renamon. Then I left to test them out to the slime area. One problem though: going to and from an area automatically cleans you of said effects, but the game fails to recognize this, leaving some battles with these options:
The game still thought I had the parasites attached, when clearly it wasn't the case. Curiously enough, it also still gave me the "aroused" effect when outside of the fleshy area. More curiously though, when trying out the "absorb" ability in the "data corrupted" option, it also overlayed both displays of Renamon: one when aroused, and one for the current slime fight. This led to something like this"
(Also, the arousal bar came back shortly after. Also also, ngl, I dig the slime Renamon design, those purple eyes in particular ).
That's something I also don't get, the option to remove the slime suit is there in the resistance option, but not for parasites. What's up with that? It could be so useful instead of wasting a turn to struggle them out, only for another to attach again.

well that specific text box is fixed, the game doesnt tell me in the preview that itd be broken so i guess i just have to be more carefulwith it.
There is no way for me to trigger a check for an attached creature in battle without someone initiating a move to trigger that check that i know of, ive tried. thats why it is the way that it is. the only way i know how to trigger an event at all in combat is with someone using a skill. I might be able to do it with running a parallel common event per turn via troops but at the same time requiring an enemy to initiate this attack also pseudo-stuns that enemy for the turn if it doesnt work, giving the player a bit more leeway.
Youre not going to be able to take anything zone specific into another zone, i would have to manually code in all interactions based on what is going where and thats way too much effort for me to care to do. the bug with flesh zone stuff seeping into other zones might be fixed probably, i tested and its fine so well see.
The reasons i dont allow you to remove every parasite at once is because they dont hinder you as much as the slime suit does, and because i wanted people to be able to pick and choose which ones they do and dont want on them. the plan is to implement a few skills that are only usable when the right creature is in the right place and to have to use specific combinations of creatures in "puzzles" later to progress.
I LOVE the art, simple really is best sometime. Rena is so damn cute and inviting, and you convey the ideas in the game so well with the style you have chosen. Both the slime suit and it's lead up look great, and is really hot. The slime corruption and the urge to make *more* and the slime wall is lovely. What also stands out to me is how temporary the whole take over is, just hits me so well. The erotic slime and the creating more is a lovely idea and the lack of permanent enslavement is a good tone, almost like these slimes would have return customers in this world if they act this way to everyone. The flesh zone is marvelous, the lust addled rena looks so cute yet again, Love the way you've styled the rena in this game. Flesh zone seems similar to the slime where ya, you get played with and hijacked , but you get let go on your own marry way after not too long. Beautiful direction of forceful breeding and the works, but not a life ending or even barely altering situation. (that slime suit and zone still has me going fucking well done job on it)
Now yes i downloaded the game mostly for the porn, but i will say the gameplay is pretty nice. Fairly involving, the stat alterations of the afflictions is a neat mechanic. The crafting system has potential, the extra max HP and stats from the slime upgrade felt nice. The flesh zone is pretty damn powerful though, if the expectation is to sit in the slime zone for an hour and grind then that is the average for these games, but i could of been missing something.
Overall the game is fairly enthralling, you do alright with the engine and it plays nice. The combat is fairly swift, although rena does feel weak but again seems to be a grinding game. The erotic content is top notch, and I ask if there is anywhere to see any non game related work of yours?? *Edit I found your furafinity, lovely stuff

Im getting a lot of talk about how the game is grindy but youre not actually supposed to be reliant on levels to beat things, the leveling is there for people who have trouble beating enemies so they can get through it easier. Its supposed to be about dealing with the enemies gimmicks in a sort of rock paper scissors fashion with the equipment augments from enemy drops. Personally id say the game is fine as is, i want it to be challenging but im a big time gamer and usually play the hardest difficulty of whatever it is im doing, suppose ill nerf some things.
alright, but I am having trouble dealing with the flesh zone, how do you deal with what is practically a guaranteed 2 turn knock out? So much damage gets done to you and without most of the group attaching to you, all 5 or more enemies just remove your health and it is barely possible to take one out every two turns, I have to be missing something but i did a lot of playing and couldn't find the solution to the gimmick that is take 100 damage a turn, what am i missing?
i typically didnt have much trouble when using slime gear for the hp and hitting them with the lust attacks to stun them semi-often. they typically move before you do, thats their thing, they are fast so you want to stun them often and take out whichever is the lowest. i think i implemented fervent flame last patch and that one shots things when you edge the lust.
One shots when edging... ill have to try that again but no matter what i tried i could never get a one shot and i would just take constant near 100+ damage a turn when fighting a full party.
love this game and cant wait for more content to come out i will say that the damage scaling is a bit buggy tho cause i grinded up to level 30 and the most i could do for damage is 115 and i feel that you could make it to were the damage scales a bit more with ones level and same with the enemy's hp and strength.
ahh, a fellow grind masochist. yeah, youre not really supposed to get stronger with levels. its there to make the game easier as time goes on yeah, but thats more for people who might need it than to be a focused gameplay mechanic. its supposed to be a kind of rock paper scissors with the different buffs from the equipment. like the mobs in the slime zone are tanky with good hp, and thats what you get from them. the flesh mobs are agile and usually take their turns first, as do you with flesh equipment. the ideas are just kinda shit cause its my first attempt at a game and im winging everything with no plan whatsoever.
I've noticed Renamon's image not appearing when I start a fight in the flesh zone with some of the lust bar filled. I've also seen the bar disappearwhen I lower the lust to the bottom quarter.
I really don't understand it either, but whenever I open it, it keeps having permission problems, which is weird because I'm logged into my administrative account. I don't know what the issue could be.
id really rather not have to make multiple compressions when i upload, but the internet seems to point to using winrar repair tool or using a file converter, not that i know of one to use for this.
like the game description says, using an old save file will almost never work. im constantly changing and adding things between updates so id be more surprised if it didnt crash. Im trying to make a checkpoint system like those password save files in old games that will let you skip to whatever zone you want
like the slimes, every zone will have some mob that attaches or effects you in a way that persists and gives you trouble as well as a boon and a preview for the skill available from that zone
seriously man this game has a lot of potential i know you have duties outside of this project but i hope you don't give up i really want to see it complete

I doubt ill put enough work into or know learn enough about rpg maker to make this great. i dont know much about groves community but the dev seems nice. really the only reason the rena has tits and isnt just a femboy was how i felt in the moment, guy on guy is something i enjoy. i might/ might not play around with that in a later zone and make the rena a femboy and/or a female entirely for that scene/zone. Plus youre kinda sounding homophobic a bit there.

Same as what livingBO said.when you go up the stairs. you seem to get stuck in the stairs and cannot move. Also while playing (not sure what caused it but just making you aware) after getting out of combat the renamon that shows in battle on the right side of the screen didn't go away. it fixed itself eventually i think when i hit the bonfire. It only happened the 1 time so again im not sure what caused it or anything.
as the description says, probably not going to update the art. i might do a little something extra for special scenes and enemies like the colors on the slime boss fight or the shines on the wall fight though but id rather keep everything simple so i dont lose interest and just stop making the game
the prior updates did say theres going to be a bunch of balancing to do as ive very recently reworked the battle system and stats. the next one should tip things more in renas favor but hopefully keep mobs from getting decimated.
i should say, i have no idea what you mean or how i should approach the balance with a general statement like that. id need to know what you were using, what lvl you were, what enemies or situation felt unfair. i need more details. Personally id be fine with making the game a bit harder, but thats me. im a grinder, i play warframe.
i dont know what you mean by 200 armor, but the money grind is going to be alleviated. mobs can drop items and a wee bit more cash, as well as youll have restore points and a rechargeable heal.
i do like plushie stuff but i dont think thats going in the game. And i know lip, if i decide to do latex things it might be either kuro based, who knows.
One thing you might want to consider is a self lose move or a lower defense on self move (possibly when fully coated?) due to the fact that after a few levels or after getting some equipment, the enemies cant even damage you, making the loss scene almost impossible without loading an earlier save.
yeahhhhh i was thinking about that today actually. ive tried making the difficulty curve harder to combat that but when i did people couldnt even kill their first slime so i had to nerf some stuff. i might curb the overall stat gain per level to be even lower and see how that turns out, i do want the equipment to be the main source of growth
If youre trying to open your last save between versions its not there because its not the same game. Youd need to go grab your save file from the prior versions folder but that might break some stuff.

You mentioned having file size issues, which would be a bit of a hindrance, especially if hosted on itch.io and having to deal with their limit. A little tip, if you haven't found it out yourself yet is that the 'unused files' tickbox does not account for assets called upon by plug-ins, so I'd suggest you to never use it in the future.
Best thing to do would be to manually remove the stock assets you do not need from your project, which could potentially save hundreds of megabytes, with the largest files located in:
audio/bgm img/battlebacks1 img/battlebacks2 img/animations (careful with this one, be sure to make backups!)

Thanks man. yeah the 'unused files' tick gave me problems at the start but it sorted itself out it seems. I think i should still be able to use it considering im only really using quality of life plugins, nothing that calls assets and such so far, wouldnt know how to do that stuff anyway.
I still wonder about that green slime we saved , will it help us with boss? or like Venom it will fuse with us? (symbiote and stuff) Anyway good game i really liked it.

well that specific text box is fixed, the game doesnt tell me in the preview that itd be broken so i guess i just have to be more carefulwith it.
There is no way for me to trigger a check for an attached creature in battle without someone initiating a move to trigger that check that i know of, ive tried. thats why it is the way that it is. the only way i know how to trigger an event at all in combat is with someone using a skill. I might be able to do it with running a parallel common event per turn via troops but at the same time requiring an enemy to initiate this attack also pseudo-stuns that enemy for the turn if it doesnt work, giving the player a bit more leeway.
Youre not going to be able to take anything zone specific into another zone, i would have to manually code in all interactions based on what is going where and thats way too much effort for me to care to do.
the bug with flesh zone stuff seeping into other zones might be fixed probably, i tested and its fine so well see.
The reasons i dont allow you to remove every parasite at once is because they dont hinder you as much as the slime suit does, and because i wanted people to be able to pick and choose which ones they do and dont want on them. the plan is to implement a few skills that are only usable when the right creature is in the right place and to have to use specific combinations of creatures in "puzzles" later to progress.

I LOVE the art, simple really is best sometime. Rena is so damn cute and inviting, and you convey the ideas in the game so well with the style you have chosen. Both the slime suit and it's lead up look great, and is really hot. The slime corruption and the urge to make *more* and the slime wall is lovely. What also stands out to me is how temporary the whole take over is, just hits me so well. The erotic slime and the creating more is a lovely idea and the lack of permanent enslavement is a good tone, almost like these slimes would have return customers in this world if they act this way to everyone. The flesh zone is marvelous, the lust addled rena looks so cute yet again, Love the way you've styled the rena in this game. Flesh zone seems similar to the slime where ya, you get played with and hijacked , but you get let go on your own marry way after not too long. Beautiful direction of forceful breeding and the works, but not a life ending or even barely altering situation. (that slime suit and zone still has me going fucking well done job on it)
Now yes i downloaded the game mostly for the porn, but i will say the gameplay is pretty nice. Fairly involving, the stat alterations of the afflictions is a neat mechanic. The crafting system has potential, the extra max HP and stats from the slime upgrade felt nice. The flesh zone is pretty damn powerful though, if the expectation is to sit in the slime zone for an hour and grind then that is the average for these games, but i could of been missing something.
Overall the game is fairly enthralling, you do alright with the engine and it plays nice. The combat is fairly swift, although rena does feel weak but again seems to be a grinding game. The erotic content is top notch, and I ask if there is anywhere to see any non game related work of yours?? *Edit I found your furafinity, lovely stuff
thanks, yeah theres my FA, which links to my twitter, and my discord which is open for a week whenever i post the voted monthly draw, which i think still has a day or 2 before it closes, itd be the shantae one. Im getting a lot of talk about how the game is grindy but youre not actually supposed to be reliant on levels to beat things, the leveling is there for people who have trouble beating enemies so they can get through it easier. Its supposed to be about dealing with the enemies gimmicks in a sort of rock paper scissors fashion with the equipment augments from enemy drops. Personally id say the game is fine as is, i want it to be challenging but im a big time gamer and usually play the hardest difficulty of whatever it is im doing, suppose ill nerf some things.
alright, but I am having trouble dealing with the flesh zone, how do you deal with what is practically a guaranteed 2 turn knock out? So much damage gets done to you and without most of the group attaching to you, all 5 or more enemies just remove your health and it is barely possible to take one out every two turns, I have to be missing something but i did a lot of playing and couldn't find the solution to the gimmick that is take 100 damage a turn, what am i missing?
i typically didnt have much trouble when using slime gear for the hp and hitting them with the lust attacks to stun them semi-often. they typically move before you do, thats their thing, they are fast so you want to stun them often and take out whichever is the lowest. i think i implemented fervent flame last patch and that one shots things when you edge the lust.
One shots when edging... ill have to try that again but no matter what i tried i could never get a one shot and i would just take constant near 100+ damage a turn when fighting a full party.
love this game and cant wait for more content to come out i will say that the damage scaling is a bit buggy tho cause i grinded up to level 30 and the most i could do for damage is 115 and i feel that you could make it to were the damage scales a bit more with ones level and same with the enemy's hp and strength.
ahh, a fellow grind masochist. yeah, youre not really supposed to get stronger with levels. its there to make the game easier as time goes on yeah, but thats more for people who might need it than to be a focused gameplay mechanic. its supposed to be a kind of rock paper scissors with the different buffs from the equipment. like the mobs in the slime zone are tanky with good hp, and thats what you get from them. the flesh mobs are agile and usually take their turns first, as do you with flesh equipment. the ideas are just kinda shit cause its my first attempt at a game and im winging everything with no plan whatsoever.

After one battle, the hero is still there, but the next battle, the hero is invisible.
Thanks to the author for updating, I reflect a small problem. The main character becomes invisible after being attacked by three monsters.
Only after being attacked by the monster, the main character will return to normal.

I've noticed Renamon's image not appearing when I start a fight in the flesh zone with some of the lust bar filled. I've also seen the bar disappear when I lower the lust to the bottom quarter.
yeah the bar dissappears at about 4/5th stage and i have no idea why
v0.05.2 fails to load slime.png's when groped. When 1 of these images fail to load, ending combat will result in an infinite loop of "now loading".

I really don't understand it either, but whenever I open it, it keeps having permission problems, which is weird because I'm logged into my administrative account. I don't know what the issue could be.
id really rather not have to make multiple compressions when i upload, but the internet seems to point to using winrar repair tool or using a file converter, not that i know of one to use for this.

like the game description says, using an old save file will almost never work. im constantly changing and adding things between updates so id be more surprised if it didnt crash. Im trying to make a checkpoint system like those password save files in old games that will let you skip to whatever zone you want

like the slimes, every zone will have some mob that attaches or effects you in a way that persists and gives you trouble as well as a boon and a preview for the skill available from that zone

Same as what livingBO said.when you go up the stairs. you seem to get stuck in the stairs and cannot move. Also while playing (not sure what caused it but just making you aware) after getting out of combat the renamon that shows in battle on the right side of the screen didn't go away. it fixed itself eventually i think when i hit the bonfire. It only happened the 1 time so again im not sure what caused it or anything.
unless you can recreate it and give me more info im not sure where to look to fix the portrait issue

as the description says, probably not going to update the art. i might do a little something extra for special scenes and enemies like the colors on the slime boss fight or the shines on the wall fight though but id rather keep everything simple so i dont lose interest and just stop making the game

the prior updates did say theres going to be a bunch of balancing to do as ive very recently reworked the battle system and stats. the next one should tip things more in renas favor but hopefully keep mobs from getting decimated.
i should say, i have no idea what you mean or how i should approach the balance with a general statement like that. id need to know what you were using, what lvl you were, what enemies or situation felt unfair. i need more details.

i dont know what you mean by 200 armor, but the money grind is going to be alleviated. mobs can drop items and a wee bit more cash, as well as youll have restore points and a rechargeable heal.

All I can think of is "Possession, Transformation & Petrification".
One thing you might want to consider is a self lose move or a lower defense on self move (possibly when fully coated?) due to the fact that after a few levels or after getting some equipment, the enemies cant even damage you, making the loss scene almost impossible without loading an earlier save.
yeahhhhh i was thinking about that today actually. ive tried making the difficulty curve harder to combat that but when i did people couldnt even kill their first slime so i had to nerf some stuff. i might curb the overall stat gain per level to be even lower and see how that turns out, i do want the equipment to be the main source of growth

If youre trying to open your last save between versions its not there because its not the same game. Youd need to go grab your save file from the prior versions folder but that might break some stuff.

You mentioned having file size issues, which would be a bit of a hindrance, especially if hosted on itch.io and having to deal with their limit. A little tip, if you haven't found it out yourself yet is that the 'unused files' tickbox does not account for assets called upon by plug-ins, so I'd suggest you to never use it in the future.
Best thing to do would be to manually remove the stock assets you do not need from your project, which could potentially save hundreds of megabytes, with the largest files located in:
audio/bgm
img/battlebacks1
img/battlebacks2
img/animations (careful with this one, be sure to make backups!)

I think i should still be able to use it considering im only really using quality of life plugins, nothing that calls assets and such so far, wouldnt know how to do that stuff anyway.
